Jaren Goh Design

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

While doing a little blog-hopping at Oh Joy! over the weekend, I came across this photo and immediately feel in love with this piece of functional art work by Jaren Goh Design.

Love the play on color and space and I can actually imagine having something like this in my own place. With all the other things going on, I just haven't been in the decorating mood . . . but I might have a new art project for the {handy}man . . .

Mollie Dash

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

You know that feeling of elation you get when you go through grandma's jewel box and find that unexpected something special? Well that's the same feeling I get when I look at Mollie Dash's finds and trinkets. Each handmade piece is one of a kind and somehow manages to strike the perfect balance between femme fatale and tomboy. The bonus . . . each piece is made from found materials making it easy to make eco-friendly shopping choices.

PS. You can check out her blog here . . .

Count Down . . . .

Thursday, August 23, 2007

Ahhhh {I'm screaming with stress}, my mother's {grown and sexy} wedding is taking place tomorrow and I still have so much to do! There's the programs, the flowers, and the extra little finishing touches left to be completed. I know that I won't have time to post until after the wedding. . . . so. . . while I'm gone feel free to check out some goodnis I've recently stumbled upon . . . .

There is a very interesting post over at Make Fetch Happen's and StyleChile's blogs, that I would love to see discussed further. . . .

My Wedding Inspiration Board for Style Me Pretty's Weddng Inspiration Board contest was posted amongst some other really great inspiration boards.

And last but not least, some great eye-candy { since, I'm all into interior design right now} . . . . . from the G Hotel . . . .

How great are both these rooms? If only I had the guts to use that blue and a few dozen less toodler fingerprints on my already dark furniture. . . . .

See you Monday!

Sika Designs

Sunday, August 19, 2007

Ahhhhh. . . {I'm screaming with joy!}

You know how much I love African fabrics in fashion, but I rarely see them interpreted in modern clothing designs. . . that is until now. While catching up on some reading at Clothes-Pin {I really do love that site}, I read a post on Sika Designs, a company that creates clothes inspired by Ghana, West Africa. Sigh. . . . It's like print heaven, only better . . . .

Blog Love

Monday, August 13, 2007

One of my favorite bloggers, Jenifer Altman of Athena Says has a new shop and a new face. I've been reading her blog and watching it grow over the last 2 years and I'm never disappointed by her quality posts. Somehow this mother of three manages to run a great blog and create some really gorgeous paper goods and jewelry. So. . . it comes to no surprise that her home is just as gorgeous. Check out some pics of her home she so kindly posted on flickr. You've got to love the casual chic vibe of her home and her ability to mix some classic traditional pieces with the modern. Apparently I'm not the only one loving her vibe - her office space was featured on Apartment Therapy last week! You can view more of her home here.

Truly inspirational. . . .

The Urban Vegan

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

As I previously mentioned, I am a vegetarian, although I followed a vegan diet for years before my son was born. Lately, I have been attempting to get back to my vegan roots while still satisfying my three year olds budding (and picky) appetite. Luckily, while searching for eateries in Philly, I came across the Urban Vegan, a blog created by a Philadelphian vegan whose pretty nifty in the kitchen. Just perusing her site inspires me to get cooking {literally}. The blog is chock full of easy to follow recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. . . . and even dessert. Check out these photos from the recent “Vegan Gone Wild Contest” where readers send in photos and recipes of their best vegan desserts. Yummy!

Ifenkili

Friday, July 13, 2007

While blog lurking at one of my new fav spots Bella Naija, I found more of my favorite thing. . . . . African prints!! This time the designs are created by Ifenkili, "a contemporary African clothing line based in the UK". Ifenkili offers some very cute tops and of course SHOES!! Unfortunately, I don't see where the items are available for purchase, so the eye-candy will have to do for now. . . .
