I went to a bead show in the city this weekend and spent a little more than I should have!! Here is just a pinch of the goodies that I picked up. There were so many rare beads and findings I just couldn't control myself!!






Then to finish off the day, I met up with my two favorite men {the hubby & midget} at Barnes & Noble and was pleasantly surprised with this book . . .



Would you believe that the midget picked it out. He really is a brilliant child. Anyway, the book is full of useful information that will help me to learn more about my natural craft. I hope to share the goodnis with you soon . . .

For the late post today. The wedding was crazy, but even through all the ups and downs, it turned out to be one of the most exhilarating parties I've ever thrown! In fact, the party lasted well into the weekend with a huge backyard fiesta on Saturday to wish the happy couple a joyful bon voyage on their 2 week cruise and then a small cook out on Sunday with the last few family members that hadn't headed home yet. Needless to say I am exhausted and still cleaning and can't wait to throw another bash again {anyone need a planner?? ;) }. Unfortunately because of the crazy schedule I was unable to take pics of the wedding with my own camera, but I promise to post some as soon as I can. . . .

Ahhhh {I'm screaming with stress}, my mother's {grown and sexy} wedding is taking place tomorrow and I still have so much to do! There's the programs, the flowers, and the extra little finishing touches left to be completed. I know that I won't have time to post until after the wedding. . . . so. . . while I'm gone feel free to check out some goodnis I've recently stumbled upon . . . .

How great are both these rooms? If only I had the guts to use that blue and a few dozen less toodler fingerprints on my already dark furniture. . . . .

I decided to participate in the Style Me Pretty wedding inspiration board contest. Of course I have several ideas of how I would like my wedding day to play out, but this particular board is based on one of my favorite colors - blue. Couldn't you imagine celebrating your special day dressed in this beautiful sari surrounded by luscious exotic plants while your guests fill their bellies with fresh sweet fruit? Moroccan lanterns and scented candles would add just the touch of romance as you take in all the precious moments that make up your wedding ceremony. . . .

Ahhh. . . A girl can dream . . . .

I first spotted this idea in {the 1st issue?} of Blueprint Magazine knowing that I would try this project out for myself. I love unique ways of displaying plants so this really excited me.

Okay. . . .
So I tried the orange. . .
And I tried the blue. . .
And they both looked terrible {although, the man liked both}. . .

So I have officially {that is until I change my mind again} decided on a silvery blue color, inspired by Joy’s bedroom. SO, here is the pseudo-board for the living room. . . . .

A. Since I’m looking for a more sophisticated look, I’m leaning towards neutral accents to balance out my love of saturated walls. Love the colors and texture in this multi-colored pillow.
B. Love chrome and crystal together. Especially against a nice blue wall.
C. I was lucky to get dark wood furniture from my mother, but I like this round coffee table from Target.
D. Can’t beat silk{like} chocolate brown curtains
E. I have tons of eggshell throw pillows. They will look good against the orangey-brown slipcover {see H}.
F. I will be throwing around lots of chrome accessories for a little sparkle and reflection.
G. I snagged a huge glass vase to add bright greenery to the space.
H. I have a couch and loveseat that will be updated with a nice stretch orangey-brown slipcover from Surefits.
I. More chrome! Love this vase.
J. Here is the color! A silvery periwinkle blue that has enough color to suit my taste.
H. I know this has been very overdone, but I have a thing for animal prints. A little faux zebra for the floor will add a little punch {from Pier1}.

I thought I would post a picture of the wedding invites I made for my mother's special day since I got so many compliments on them. They were very basic {and I like to think classic} invitations sealed with a gold metallic wax. Her guests {reportedly} said they never received something so fancy in the mail! Thanks for all the compliments! I'm really looking forward to celebrating this day with my mother and our family!
