Remember that term?? Memories of too much lip gloss, purple eyeshadow, and finger waves come to mind . . . I guess that's why I can appreiciate these 80's like photos of
Dime Pieces's 2007 Summer Look Book.

I'm loving the inventive re-use of automotive fabrics by
Kim White to make really good looking, yet eco-friendly bags. The bonus: versatile belts great for both day and night!

Ahhhhh. . . {I'm screaming with joy!}
You know how much I love African fabrics in fashion, but I rarely see them interpreted in modern clothing designs. . . that is until now. While catching up on some reading at Clothes-Pin {I really do love that site}, I read a post on
Sika Designs, a company that creates clothes inspired by Ghana, West Africa. Sigh. . . . It's like print heaven, only better . . . .

Now this is interesting!
Gary Harvey, creative genius and brand image creator behind Levi's debuted these gowns during London's Fashion Week. Newspapers, Logo t-shirts, army fatigues and {my favorite} denim have never been used so creatively, yet fashionably before.

How heavy does that denim gown have to be???

I have a serious love for indie magazines with great websites. Lately I've been checking out
Link Magazine's online sneak-peeks and their very chic photography. I'm really feeling these glamorous photos showcasing the work of
Leah C. Couture Millinery.

By now, I think we can gather that I’m really into prints, especially African-prints. Needless to say, I fell in love as soon as I spotted these African-print clutches from
UrbanKnit. How cute is the middle clutch with the bow! Check out their etsy store
here.

While catching up on some blog reading at
I Like Her Style!, I came across fashion designers AquaPoni and there funky vintage clothing line. With all the craze centered around vintage clothing, it’s hard to get excited about more designers taking that approach. But these girls are on to something. I love some of the pieces they’ve come up with, specifically their African-print and high-waist skirts.

Unfortunately, their
site is under construction so imagining myself in it will have to do for now. In the meanwhile check out their
myspace page.
